Emory O. Rodgers, 22, of Boyce Virginia, was appointed to the Winchester Police force by Chief C W Hollis. Rodgers, a Boyce High School graduate, recently received an honorary army discharge after three years at Fort Monroe Coast Artillery where he earned an excellent gunner rating and boxed on the post team. He also served a year with Headquarters Company National Guard in Winchester. Sworn in by Peyton Marshall, Rodgers starts Monday night. he scored 86 on Hollis’s examination.
