Monster lemon from St Petersburg garden shocks local readers
Mrs. R. C. McKee of Route 1 brought a giant lemon weighing one and three quarters pounds to the Star. Her daughter Mrs. Marshall Martin of St. Petersburg, Florida, grows monster lemons and sent it home to bake a pie. Farmers can use the James Wood Vocational Farm Shop on Monday and Tuesday nights 7 to 10 for repairs with a licensed mechanic on hand. Rain is forecast to move north from southern Virginia with a low near 38 and a high around 40 tomorrow cloudy and wet.

Khrushchev Says USSR Can Cut Army By One Third

President Eisenhower asked Congress to amend the 1958 Space Act to clarify NASA leadership of a civilian national space program. Gov. J. Lindsay Almond Jr. submitted a 1960 62 budget totaling 1.32 billion dollars the largest in Virginia history with a 3 percent sales tax.
