The 1929 automobile licenses expire at midnight tomorrow night January 15 and continued use risks arrest and fines. A fifteen day grace period has allowed purchase of 1930 plates, available at the Chamber of Commerce since late December. Police will arrest anyone using 1929 plates after twelve o'clock tomorrow night.

Engineer Sam Swagert of the Pennsylvania Railroad, based in Lemoyne, Pa., reportedly shot himself at his home after a furlough due to illness. He had operated a train into Winchester for 12 or 13 years and leaves two daughters and two sons.

Auto crash near Winchester kills horse injures three men
Three Morgantown men were cut and bruised when their Hudson overturned after striking a horse on the Northwestern grade three miles west of Winchester. The horse, valued at 125 dollars and owned by R. I. Payne, was killed. Sheriff Pannett says the car skidded 180 feet before impact and the horse was hurled 90 feet. Names of the injured were not obtained.

Fire Damage at Lee Baking Plant In Winchester England
Large blaze gutted the Lee Baking Company plant on Indian Alley with water from hoses and rain helping to quell residual embers.
