Special Grand Jury Nears Report On County Tax Books
The Frederick county special grand jury, serving since December 1914, is expected to submit its report to Judge T. W. Harrison tomorrow. It examined the books of the revenue commissioners and focused on C. Brannon and Isaiah Roe. The panel of eight jurors earned 1.80 per day plus mileage, and investigators say more than 1000000 dollars of taxable property has been uncovered for inclusion on the assessment rolls.

The Frederick County fruit growers dominated the Virginia Horticultural Society apple show in Winchester winning multiple first and second prizes across barrels and boxes. Officer Massie Targets Train Rider in Hagerstown Chase
Officer Massie pursued a train rider in the Cumberland Valley yards at Hagerstown. The rider fired an unloaded revolver as Massie turned to pick up his hat, but the officer survived. Conductor John Smith and crew witnesses hailed Massie as the suspect escaped toward the Western Maryland yards.
