Eight Seamen Missing After Ships Collide

In thick English Channel fog a Texaco natural gas tanker the Caribbean and the Peruvian freighter Paracas collided. The tanker split in two with eight seamen missing while twenty two crewmen were rescued. The freighter was being towed to Hamburg and the explosion was heard along twenty miles of coast.

Army officers seized the armed forces headquarters in La Paz in a rebellion against Bolivia's three month old leftist regime.
