Seven Escapees From Central State Hospital Still at Large
Four of 139 patients who escaped from Central State Hospital here were recaptured today and returned. The 13 man escape from the ward for the criminally insane occurred after supper last night. Police took four into custody and a private citizen returned three others. Hospital Superintendent Dr. Mead Brent launched an investigation into how the inmates obtained a hacksaw blade used to escape. A citizens group will ask Governor Battle for an investigation and possible fencing of the grounds.
