White House aides report hundreds of telegrams praising President Roosevelt's message to Congress were received last night and today. Stephen T. Early said about 200 telegrams were delivered before the President returned from the Capitol. He noted there were no critical messages.

Officials fear renewed disorders as 65000 December 12 rebels move through streets.
Smith brothers Arthur Elwood and Roy, all Frederick County residents, have shot eleven grey foxes and one red fox since Christmas. They own a pair of sought after fox hounds and have been noted by Game Warden Pingley as contributing to small game scarcity. Fox season closes January 31.
Ernest Ackerman 65, after 33 years with Cleveland Railway, becomes the first in Cleveland and perhaps the nation to seek a Social Security old age pension. He will net about 12 to 17 cents after tax from January wages, with a penny or two withheld. He plans to “blow it in on his friends” and praises the act for the young.
Howes Brothers Company of Boston filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Federal Social Security Act as unconstitutional. The suit also targets the Massachusetts Unemployment Insurance Act, arguing the state measure is ineffective because the federal law is invalid. The appeal stems from a Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruling in Suffolk County. Orin Warren, a 15 year old, faces a murder charge after killing his father amid threats to himself and his sisters. His 13 year old brother Oris is held on an accessory charge in the same case reported by Central Press.
Seattle Times reports a new personal ad from suspected kidnapper’s family amid ongoing Seattle-Tacoma case. Charles Mattson, ten, remains missing since December 27 as ransom talks continue and weather worsens concerns for his health. Four San Francisco peace talks opened as strikes spread to five more auto plants under Governor Murphy's optimism for GM negotiations. Detroit Briggs Body and Pearce Body plants saw sit down action, with 70 000 GM workers idle and 40 000 maritime workers affected by the coast-wide tie up.
WPA relief rolls in Winchester and Frederick County have fallen from a peak of about 350 to under 100. Public Works Administrator F W Bailey reports about 43 are women, 40 in the city. Roughly 50 enrolled workers remain eligible but unassignable due to recent restrictions, with 12 to 15 newly able cases seeking employment.
