Martinsburg Kiwanians hear plan to shift Northwestern Turnpike terminus
State Senator Gray Silver urged Martinsburg and Berkeley county to back a through route from Romney via Sleepy Creek and Miller's Gap to Martinsburg then toward Jefferson county and Washington. He argued the change would cut mileage, boost farm markets, and connect better to the National Capital, with Virginia cooperation likely. The luncheon discussion suggested local groups may study and push the idea to benefit producers and the community.
