J Thomas Kremer 66 president of Kremer Oil Co died Saturday at Winchester Memorial Hospital born October 2 1910 in Winchester son of the late Thomas E and Vernie Kremer He was a WW II veteran church member and active in multiple local civic and business groups. Surviving wife Mary Ruth DeWitt Kremer a son and a daughter and four grandsons. Funeral service at Christ Episcopal Church.

Three Area Residents Die In Shamokin Motel Fire
Three local residents died in a Shamokin Pennsylvania four story motor hotel blaze that began around 2 am. Ted Miller 38 of Winchester and William Hartung 31 and wife Judy 30 of Stephens City perished after trying to help others escape. Miller had managed the Drug Fair on Amherst Street where coworkers mourned him. The fire also killed hotel owner John Luckens 44 and left one firefighter injured. The incident claimed several other victims from across the region and damaged an adjacent dress factory.
