Mrs. Gertrude Morton Dies From Bullet Wound
Mrs. Gertrude E. Morton widow of Willis R. Morton died Monday at 11 am in Winchester Memorial Hospital from a head bullet wound. She had been found unconscious at her Frederick County home by a Friendship Ambulance driver Sunday night. Clarence Custer, her son, and her mother Mrs. Edward Pritchett survive. Born May 15, 1896 in Pittsburgh, she resided in north Frederick County six years and was a Christian Scientist. The body will be shipped to Pittsburgh for Friday interment after viewing at Jones Funeral Home.

Silver Meteor Derails in South Carolina Killing Mother and Infant
A Seaboard Air Line Silver Meteor derailed two miles north of Blaney New Jersey? No. South Carolina. At least two killed a mother Helen Wilson 22 and her four month old daughter. Alonzo H. Wilson of Williamson West Virginia identified the deceased. Several others injured and taken to Columbia for treatment. The cause was not yet determined and trains used an alternate route while tracks were rebuilt.
