Adam Myers of 516 Highland Avenue received word his brother Staff Sergeant Robert L. Myers was killed in action in Burma on February 10. The Martinsburg West Virginia native had served three years, worked for Zeropack, and previously for National Fruit Company. He is survived by his mother in Martinsburg, three brothers and five sisters, with one brother overseas and a sister in the WAC. He would have turned 29 on April 1.

More Outside Help Seen Needed On Local Orchards
Walker McC Bond president of the Frederick County Fruit Growers Association said at the group meeting that at least 10 percent more outside help will be required on local orchards this year. Pi of synthetic truck and passenger tires was paralyzed today by a work stoppage involving about 1,500 employees of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Cum, Md. F L Harris Dies After Long Illness
Frederick L Harris owner and developer of the Harris Addition on National avenue extended died this morning at 6 o clock in Patton Nursing Home after four years of illness. He was 76, born October 6, 1869 in Wapum Wisconsin and moved to Winchester at 25 where he ran race horses before building his establishment on National avenue. He developed the Harris Addition handling five to six hundred lots through his private real estate business. Survived by nine siblings and his wife Margaret E Harris who died in 1942.
