Four Injured in Slippery Highway Crashes
Four people were hospitalized in four area wrecks yesterday with total damages of 2650. Two women were hurt in a one car crash on Rt 522 seven miles north of Winchester at 11 am. Armilda Fisher and Lela Light sustained facial and hip injuries and were listed in good condition at Memorial Hospital. The 1960 Chevrolet belonged to B and M Chevrolet of Winchester. A passenger, Mrs Eugene Spirer of Pittsburgh, suffered extensive injuries in a 1 pm crash on Rt 522 five miles north of Winchester. Mr Spirer was driving a 1960 Oldsmobile. damage around 200 dollars. Damages from a two car crash totaled 425.

Groves Injured Falling From Ladder Amid Fire
Bernard Groves Jr a fire warden for the Rouss area received a cut above the right eye and a fractured right wrist this morning while fighting a fire at Winchester Steam Laundry on Kent Street. The blaze damaged only an exhaust fan on the roof and four city companies answered the alarm. Groves slipped on ice as he stepped from the ladder to the roof and fell to the ground. He was taken to Memorial Hospital by the Winchester Volunteer Rescue Squad and released after treatment.
