A fire at the Casper Burner farm near Waterlick destroyed two barns a silo and a garage with threshing machines a truck a nearly new tractor and various tools. The Strasburg Fire Company arrived too late to save the buildings. Only one machine was saved and the fire may have started from a tramp who spent the night in the barn.

About 125 Sign Up In Frederick County Corn Hog Program
Frederick county farmers have signed about 125 corn hog contracts to date, per County Agent Fred Stine. Signups have occurred in the last two weeks since work began.
