New Penney Store To Front 60 Feet On Loudoun
A long term lease secures a new brick Penney building at the northeast corner of Loudoun and Boscawen streets. The store will feature 60 foot frontage on Loudoun and 150 feet on Boscawen with ground floor 9 000 square feet and basement 9 000 square feet plus a 3 000 square feet mezzanine. The project promises modern decor and fixtures and expands from 17 19 North Loudoun Street to serve Winchester and Shenandoah Valley shoppers with men’s and women’s apparel furnishings curtains and drapes. Manager Strader pledges a larger, more modern shopping experience for Penney’s customers.

Olinda sunk off Atlantic coast by Axis submarine

Harrison Bill Sparks Special Study In Virginia Senate

John M Steck prominent Winchester attorney banker and churchman died at his home 312 Fairmont avenue at 11 25 this morning from a heart condition. He was born January 27 1870 in Pennsylvania and had served as commonwealths attorney state legislator and bank director. Survived by wife Mary Cover three children and three grandchildren. Funeral Sunday at 3 pm from his residence with interment in the family lot.
