Four Killed in Crossing Crash in Philadelphia
Four men riding to work in a small truck were killed when a Reading Railroad freight train struck the vehicle near Seventy-ninth Street and Island Road in southwest Philadelphia. Two others were seriously injured. The dead were Frank Johnson 55 Marian Gordon 40 John Wablonski 38 and Joseph Stusky. The injured were David Murphy and Thomas Martin, all Philadelphians and employees of Murphy Trunk Stevedore Company.

Bud Walker, described as a negro desperado, receives seven years in addition to five already in penitentiary for attempting to shoot Sheriff Pannett. He pled guilty to attempted assault on Sheriff’s aide Robert DeHaven. Judge Philip Williams also imposes two years for that charge.
