Peru Frees Boat After Naval Clash Off Peru

The U S flagged tuna boat Mariner was released at Talara after a Peruvian gunboat attacked a small fishing fleet 23 miles off the coast. Region 15 College Ad Hoc Committee Allocates 14 Board Seats

The ad hoc nominating committee for Region 15 Community College near Middletown decides the permanent local advisory board will have 14 members from eight subdivisions with two seats for Clarke and Rappahannock Counties and one each for Frederick Fauquier Page Shenandoah Warren Counties and Winchester City. Frederick County will be represented by Dr. Melton F. Wright and C. Robert Solenberger. Estimated project costs include land 100000 site development 200000 architects Engineers 25900 construction 1040715 equipment 567000 and area salaries about 1 million. Region 15 subdivisions will fund land site and design costs about 325000 with federal and state funds covering construction and equipment. The cost-sharing formula will be updated with new tax figures reflecting Fauquier County split between regions.
