Winchester drive set for concert association members
Sixty five volunteer workers for the Winchester Community Concert Association will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the George Washington Hotel for dinner and instructions on renewing memberships and recruiting new members. Gerald Devlin of the Community Concert Service will be in town for the week long drive and attend the dinner to aid Andrew, president of the local association, as the campaign continues. The current series concludes with a concert on Wednesday evening February 22 at Handley Auditorium featuring Swedish Metropolitan Opera tenor Set Swanholm in recital.

Wet Weather Floods Hit Middle Tennessee and North Regions
The Associated Press reports fresh cold rain and floods across the nation. In Nashville two Black women drowned as Cumberland River floods receded while about 800 people fled lowland areas in middle Tennessee. The river crested above flood stage and downstream Clarksville rose toward new levels as wintry conditions spread across the northern plains and New England with subzero readings in parts of the Dakotas Minnesota and Maine.
