Frederick County Board Approves Route 628 Highway Plan
Frederick County supervisors authorize a two lane surface treated highway on Route 628 from Rt 631 West Stephens City to near the Shenandoah county line at an estimated cost of 18000 dollars half funded by Federal Aid secondary funds and half by State funds. A public meeting was set for March 10 to hear requests for secondary road improvements.

Berryville Man Thomas Dix 66 Dies After Hospital Stay
Thomas Dix age 66 of Berryville died early today at Winchester Memorial Hospital after about two weeks as a patient. He was born March 18 1880 in King and Queen County the son of William Shepherd Dix and Mary Agnes Smith. He served as vestryman at Grace Episcopal Church Berryville and worked in mercantile business before long with his brother William Dix and Dave Ramsburg and later with Republic Oil. He married Frances Pierce of Berryville and survived by daughter Mary Frances Dix in Richmond and sisters Mrs E D Currie of Berryville and Mrs Thomas Lewis of Danville. Funeral services will be held at the late home this afternoon at 4 o clock conducted by Rev Henry G Lane with burial at Green Hill Cemetery Berryville. Pallbearers are Dr A P Osborne Garland Carter Oscar Ramsburg Rice W Levi Joseph F Moore and A B Hunter.
