Parker of West Virginia was found guilty by a circuit court jury of operating a vehicle under liquor. He received 30 days in jail plus a $100 fine and costs. Mrs Mary R Conner 72 lifelong Winchester resident died at 815 South Loudoun Street after years of illness. She leaves two daughters Mrs A G Carter of Crow Agency Montana and Mrs Clarence Hoover of Winchester, a brother Robert E L Grant of California, two sisters and three grandchildren. Funeral at Grace Lutheran Church Monday at 2 with interment in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
Edwin Amiss Palmer Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Palmer of Richmond and brother of Mrs. William Beverley of Winchester died at 5:30 yesterday after an operation. He was 19 and had recently undergone surgery. He leaves his parents and his sister, Mrs. Beverley, of Winchester. Mr. Beverley went to Richmond for the funeral.
A hat found on a road near Maple Point east of Lafayette identified as that worn by J. P. Groves, deputy sheriff, who with two prisoners disappeared Tuesday en route to Pendleton state reformatory. A belt from a corduroy coat, believed to have belonged to John Burns, was also found nearby.

Rear Admiral George Collier Remey, retired and among the oldest rank holders, died in Washington. Born in Burlington Iowa, in 183? he entered the Naval Academy in 1855 and served in the Civil War after graduation.
New York Feb. 11 The Associated Press reports further irregularity in the stock market today but the main price tendency was upward. The closing was firm with total sales about 1,300,000 shares.
In Richmond on February 12 Senator James Barron led opposition to the pari mutuel betting bill, denouncing self appointed guardians of public morals. After a long debate the measure was indefinitely postponed, with votes recorded against by Barron and others and lobbyist remarks sparking further clash.
