A mother Bessie Roberts and her daughter Florence Roberts died from severe burns after a kitchen fire at Mack Clagett farm near Berryville. The blaze started when coal oil was poured on embers, causing a sheet of flame that engulfed them as they fled outside. They were taken to Winchester Memorial Hospital where both died within hours.

Mr Shanholtz his wife and child were slightly cut when their car collided with another on Berryville Pike at Fairview Avenue junction. They were treated at a nearby residence and later went home. Cuts came from flying glass from the broken windshield.
Warren County supervisors announce no reimposition of the 25 cent state tax on land and tangible property for county purposes in 1987.
