An attentive audience enjoyed Handley high school faculty three one act plays at the auditorium. The Passing of Chow Chow drew chuckles as office scenes unfolded with Mattie Brett Standish and Robert Standish amid marital tensions. A Wedding sparked much laughter with Bob Tisdale seeking a collar button as the couple’s relatives added chaos, while The Drums of One offered suspense as Captain McGregor and Hartley faced danger to guard a powder magazine with a romantic twist and a final rescue by reinforcements. The trio of plays was praised as excellently performed and the faculty thanked for their cooperation.

The funeral of James H. Farmer was held Wednesday from the home of his daughter Mrs. Nettie Pentz in this city. The Rev J Goode and Rev L McFarland officiated.
