Berryville Va February 8 The town council discussed installing parking meters with a manufacturer representative. Meters would be financed by a revenue share over 12 to 15 months, 75 percent to the maker and 25 percent to the town, at about $80 per meter plus $4 installation. The Frederick County Fruit Growers Association led by president Walker McC Bond purchased seven acres of county school board property on Fairmont Avenue at a public sale in front of the courthouse. Christiansburg Va Feb 8 a damaging fire destroyed most of Cambria's business section. Five frame structures and a large three story bank building housing the post office burned with extensive losses. authorities suspect the Bailey restaurant as the origin. Forney 62 Printer Dies at Noon in Winchester
Samuell Forney a 62 year old printer and linotype operator died at his home 506 Cameron Street at noon after a sudden heart attack. He was born March 29 1884 in Winchester and worked for the Winchester Star and in Washington and Baltimore before opening a Cork Street print shop about ten years ago. He is survived by his wife Bessie Ritter four children Kenneth Forney Lucille Forney Elizabeth Triplett and Richard M Forney two sisters Julia Forney Vera MacMillan a brother Stewart Forney and two grandchildren. Funeral service will be Monday at 2 pm at Jones Funeral Home with Rev L F Havermale officiating. interment Mt Hebron Cemetery.
