Paul Jennings about 15 son of Mr and Mrs H H Jennings of 28 South Stewart street is in serious condition at Memorial Hospital after being accidentally wounded by a .30-30 army rifle. The bullet entered his right thigh and he's believed to be bleeding and weak. He was carried by Friendship ambulance driven by Raymond Campbell from the Harry K Russell farm Merriman's Lane west of Winchester. Jennings was with friends including William McIntyre and Jack Seal when the accident occurred as he climbed a fence with the rifle. His father, an assistant to the president of the O Sullivan Rubber Company, was away on business and rushed from Charles Town to Winchester after hearing.
