Violators of Liquor Laws Plead Guilty
In circuit court yesterday W H Mcllwee and his son Carl Mcllwee pleaded guilty to liquor law violations after a grand jury indictment. The elder was fined 50 dollars, costs, and 30 days in jail with the jail term suspended on good behavior. Carl received six months in jail and a 5 dollar fine plus costs for possession of a still. Farabee also pled guilty, got six months and 5 dollars fine, then withdrew the plea to stand trial after surrendering himself to begin sentence. Trial for Russell Copeland on murder charges set for February 24 and Ward Kemp’s trial noted.
