Guffey Coal Law Held By Court Invalid
Federal Judge Albert L. Reeves ruled the Guffey coal tax unconstitutional under federal taxing powers. Six Missouri coal companies challenged the act seeking injunctions to stop collection, arguing the Little NRA tax would punish compliance with a national code.
