Blackburn Moore Returns Salary for Six Day Session

E Blackburn Moore member of the House of Delegates for Clarke and Frederick counties and Winchester refunded to the State a portion of his salary for six days of service in a six day special session. His salary was 360 dollars. he kept 72 dollars as six days pay and sent his personal check for 288 dollars. He said the refund was voluntary and part of a policy from the so called beer session.

Funeral Service Held For Mrs Kurtz In Winchester

Simple but impressive rites were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon for Mrs Mary Clayton Kurtz widow of Captain George W Kurtz at 21 South Loudoun Street after a brief pneumonia illness. The Rev R and Shipley supplied pastor for Loudoun Street Presbyterian Church and Rev Dr D Gilkeson officiated. Rev Allan Jones conducted the grave service.
