Britain’s Comet III jetliner crossed the Atlantic non stop from Montreal to London in 6 hours 18 minutes for record purposes, covering 3350 miles at an average 548 mph with tailwinds boosting speed to over 640 mph at times. The flight capped a 35000 mile round world proving trip led by Capt. John Cunningham from Hatfield to multiple cities.
