Mrs Imogene DeJarnette died near Star Tannery from influenza and pneumonia just after an 11 month marriage to Howard DeJarnette. Her funeral was in Martinsburg with Rev Charles S Trump and Rev Dr W F Gruver officiating. She is laid to rest in Green Hill Cemetery. she was formerly Miss Lane of Martinsburg. Her husband works in stave manufacturing near Star Tannery.
Maurice and Nelson Castleman aged 12, twins and sons of Mr and Mrs Maurice F Castleman of Castlemans Ferry Clarke county, died yesterday after a brief influenza illness. One died at 1:46 pm the other at 2:01 pm. The family of nine was stricken though Mr Castleman improved while the wife and two others were seriously ill. A double funeral was planned for today at Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville.
