Higher Church Honor Given To Father Rankin
The Rev. Thomas Rankin formerly of Winchester and longtime pastor of St Marys Catholic Church in Alexandria is named dean of the Deanery of Northern Virginia by Bishop Andrew J. Brennan. The appointment follows Father Van Ingelgem's resignation and gives Rankin authority over minor dispensations and faculties for the deanery priests. Rankin is Richmond native with two sisters in the city. Ingelgem previously led St James Church Falls Church and now serves as chaplain of the Visitation Convent in Richmond.
