Virginia telephone rates rise for 560,000 customers
The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co. won SCC approval for a 7.23 million dollar annual revenue increase in Virginia beginning January 1. The hike lowers monthly bills by area from 50 cents to 9.50 dollars and affects 560,000 customers in cities including Richmond Roanoke Newport News and Hampton. A supplementary 1.27 million dollar request was denied.
