County Law Held Invalid by State Attorney General
The State Attorney General declares Frederick County Virginia a county law unconstitutional which banned display or distribution of political campaign material in county offices. The board of supervisors approved the measure at a November meeting led by Thomas Rosenberger with votes from Donald Baughman and Raymond Sandy in favor J Robert Russell against and Thomas Brumback abstaining. The opinion notes county property possession rests with the board and courthouse control lies with judges, effectively voiding the resolution.

Government Offices Closed Tomorrow in Winchester and Frederick County
Winchester and Frederick County government offices will close all day tomorrow with two exceptions. The Frederick County treasurer's office will be open tomorrow then close by order of the Circuit Court next Monday through Thursday to audit and close accounts of retiring treasurer Harry L. McCann before handing duties to incoming treasurer Dorothy Keckley. The executive secretary's office will close tomorrow at noon and stay closed through Monday.

Air Attacks Bring U.S. Closer to Hanoi

Slanesville Woman Killed in Two Car Crash
A 24 year old Slanesville resident Mrs Carol Madeline Hott was killed in a two car collision on Rt 45 near Slanesville yesterday at 4 30 pm. Her eight year old daughter Michelle survived with scalp lacerations and is hospitalized in Winchester Memorial. The crash involved a Volkswagen driven by Mrs Hott attempting to cross Rt 45 and being struck by an eastbound car driven by Neil Grapes of Augusta.
