A festive Empire program opens at 10 30 with The Spark Divine a six part Christmastide tale starring Alice Joyce and child performers. Screenings include Christmas Eve at 10c up 20c down free to children Christmas morning and matinee at 3 with Anne of Green Gables Friday night. The Official Screen Opinions lauds the film noting its appeal to families and praising Miss Minter and the supporting cast.
The Spark Divine stars Alice Joyce in a Vita graph tale shown at Empire for Christmas. Marcia marries for wealth to save her father, but a child and a Christmas tree awaken motherly love, under Tom Terriss direction with Alicia Ramsey script and a cast including William Carlton Jr, Eulane Jensen, Frank Norcross, Mary Carr.
Santa will visit the Elks Home this Christmas night from 6 to 10 PM to meet worthy children. The Elks organized the event after Santa overlooked many kids during his rush on Christmas Eve. A musical program will accompany the festivities for a joyful evening.
