Liner Columbus Scuttled By Crew
Four hundred miles off Cape Henry Virginia the German luxury liner Columbus laden with 20000 barrels of crude oil was set afire and scuttled by its Nazi crew likely on Berlin orders. Exclusive photographs record the ship’s destruction, survivors, and transfer to Ellis Island with no serious casualties.
