Walter B. Stine a Frederick county farmer and member of a prominent local family died shortly before 1 PM at Fort Collier his ancestral home near the city. He was 55 and had suffered pneumonia followed by heart failure after a period of weakness. Born July 17 1876 at Fort Collier he lived there all his life and managed the family estate. He was twice married surviving by his wife Grave Eckles two sons William Lee Marshall Howard and two daughters Florence Martha and two sisters. At the nineteenth annual Virginia Division Farm Education and Cooperative Union convention in Roanoke delegates from Frederick and Clarke counties report improved farmer conditions. Police say two witnesses saw Hickman and an accomplice move bundles from the Bellevue Arms to a coupe before Marian Parker’s body was brought home for ransom.
