Ray Smith collapses and dies at his wire key in Baltimore as a train dispatcher works Sunday. Authorities rule natural cause while witnesses report the incident near the dispatch office.
W. Ray Smith longtime night dispatcher for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Shenandoah division with Winchester ties died suddenly Sunday morning in Brunswick Maryland at age. He had previously served in Winchester and Brunswich and spent Saturday in Washington seeking specialist treatment. Smith died of a heart attack while on duty at Brunswick at 8 am and his funeral is set for Tuesday with Masonic and railroad friends attending.
