Derailment of San Francisco Zephyr near Omaha injures passengers
Six cars plunged 35 feet down an embankment near Omaha as the Chicago bound San Francisco Zephyr derailed before dawn. At least 46 travelers were hurt, with 27 year old Greg J. Gee in serious condition after surgery. No deaths reported. Railway officials say two sleeping cars a diner lounge and two coaches fell, two engines and four cars stayed on track.
