Plant to Resume Ferromanganese Production at Lynchburg
E J Lavino and Co will restart ferromanganese production at its Lynchburg plant. The Division of Industrial Development and Planning said furnace start up will occur soon with most of the workforce returning this spring. Ferromanganese is a steel alloy. the plant closed in June 1962 due to imported competition.
