Hospital Tarpaulins Burn During Winchester Memorial Fire
Fire at 5 30 p m yesterday destroyed four canvas tarpaulins draped around new concrete on the Stewart Street side of Winchester Memorial Hospital construction. Administrator Homer Alberti said a heater blew over and started the blaze. A watchman temporarily left his post but English Construction Co. will have two men on site at all times. Firefighters answered the alarm, used two lines of hose, and quickly extinguished the flames with water. No damage to steel, concrete, or wooden forms was reported.
