Apples Inspected by Virginia Inspectors in 1926
Virginia state inspectors stamped 497 859 barrels of apples by December 1 1926 up from 895 984 barrels in 1922 25. First eleven months of 1926 saw more than 10 000 car cars inspected versus 170 cars in the prior four years. Funeral for Mrs. Mary Wood Widow Veteran Held
Mrs. Mary J. Wood died after a three week illness at her South Loudoun Street home. The funeral at her home featured Rev. Murray D. Minneap olis Minn Dec 15 Harry Berglund light heavyweight died at a local hospital after being knocked out 15 seconds before the six round bout with Carroll Augustine of St Paul. Berglund 21 had many amateur fights before this professional debut. The opponent was arrested at ringside with no charge yet by the coroner's action. This followed another boxing death in Hartford Conn yesterday.
