W Nelson Page of Christ Episcopal Church said the Spillman family from Warrenton placed a memorial plaque on the west inside wall to honor Rev. John Scott. Scott was chaplain to Sir Robert Eden, Maryland’s last colonial governor, and lies buried at the Water and Loudoun street church site. Capt. Anthony Eden, Sir Robert Eden’s great great grandson, visited the grave during a regional tour. The plaque was placed about eight or nine years ago by Fauquier Spillmans, descendants of Scott.
