Coal Company Official Charged in Kickback Scheme
A former Consolidation Coal Co official, Donald H. Richards, 45, of Berwyn, faces 26 counts of mail fraud after being charged with taking nearly 250000 in kickbacks from smaller firms in Maryland Virginia and West Virginia to steer coal purchases in 1975 and 1976. Richards left the company in 1975 and operated as a broker. The noted firms include Veletar Corp Towson Md Summers Fuel Inc andvert Coal Co of Towson and F Fool Coal Co Inc of Virginia Beach.
