Car Hits Woman On Braddock Street Injuries Reported
Mrs. Frank Woore is in fair condition after being struck by a southbound car on Braddock Street yesterday evening. The driver Russell Braithwaite of Shockeysville backed into a parking space and hit her with the left rear bumper as she crossed the street. She was hospitalized with abrasions and leg bruises. Officer Jack Shumaker investigated.

Chimney Fire Threatens Home on Paper Mill Road
A chimney fire at the Nicholson residence on Paper Mill Road caused about 100 in damage. South End and Friendship fire companies contained the blaze near the living room stove after 8 30 am. Mrs Nicholson evacuated three children and most of the family's clothes before firefighters arrived. walls and flooring around the stove were damaged. The house and contents are insured.

Thieves hit Winchester area with multiple incidents last night. At Barr's Orchard and Farm Supply two tires and wheels were stolen from a lot at N Kent Street and Liberty Avenue. Zuckerman Junk Co. on N Kent Street reported a break in with glass damaged and a cash box forced open but no money found. An attempted entry at Firestone Store at Braddock and Amherst Streets left two window panes broken and a display panel blocked the entry.
