The body of long-time U S Representative Henry D Flood was moved from a Washington vault to a granite and marble mausoleum in Appomattox Virginia. United States Senator Claude A Swanson gave the principal tribute praising Flood as a faithful friend and steadfast public servant.

Richard Bogginson testified in Circuit Court claiming he drove the car during a village shooting that wounded Stuart Whettell and involved others indicted by the jury. He blamed Harry Lynch and John Hilton, said his hands were empty of weapons, and that he learned of Whettell’s injury only after the sheriff arrived. Prosecutor T Russell Cather led the commonwealth. Herbert S Larrick defended Bogginson. Jury panel members were named and sworn for service.
George Gay, 25, was shot by a mob in Streetman Texas after being accused of attacking a white woman. The mob dragged him from the sheriff’s posse and burned the Negro hotel last night. the woman was scratched but unharmed. Evidence tied Gay to the crime but she did not identify him. The town remained unsettled after the incident.

The Shenandoah Valley National Bank unveils a rebuilt and refurnished building with a Friday 7 to 10 reception. A two story reinforced concrete and steel vault with McClintock alarm systems, 623 safe deposit boxes, private customer booths, and upgraded clerical space highlight the modernization. The Diebold Company installed the vault and safe deposit sections under Harry P. Barrett, with renovations by Glaize and Brother and P. T. Bungardner Co. Willow Creek architects Clarence L. Harding directed the project.
Representative farmers from多 sections of Virginia travel to Winchester for the fourteenth annual Virginia division Farmers Cooperative and Educational Union convention. The opening session is at 10 o'clock in City Hall Auditor, with a farm exhibit in Court House hall. James Armstead colored was fined ten dollars plus costs in police court for drunk and disorderly conduct. Mayor Glass suspended a 60 day jail term contingent on no similar charges for a year. Armstead, arrested at Harry Rawson’s East Piccadilly Street restaurant, allegedly struck Officer Armel with a night stick during a fight with a North Carolina Negro. The club broke. Armstead claimed no recollection of being struck. He was not seriously hurt.
Mrs. Howard M. Hoge, state president, is expected to speak at the meeting at Handley Library Thursday December 9 at 3 p.m. The event is part of the Christmas presents series.
