Mrs. Henry Catlett died of pneumonia at her North Kent street home as destitution and refused child custody dominated the scene. The Rev. Dr. Alfred Thruston Graham native of Winchester and prominent Presbyterian minister in the Virginia Synod died last Saturday near Charlotte North Carolina after health issues related to hardening of the arteries. In San Antonio Texas 138 black soldiers were hanged at Fort Sam Houston for murder and mutiny linked to the Houston riots of August 23. They were part of a larger group of 63 soldiers tried by court martial. no verdicts were announced before the executions.
