The Winchester Berryville Boyce Stephens City and Gainesboro directories will reach about 18 400 homes an increase of 800. The volume adds 450 listings nine white pages and 196 yellow pages. Emergency numbers police fire ambulance and doctor are printed inside the front cover. A penal code note warns against misusing party lines and ringing others phones. Area codes appear on page three with faster long distance calling possible by using area codes. About 12 650 copies go to Ohio printers and 5 750 are delivered locally by hand and mail.

Two Small Fires Put Out In Clarke
John Lee of Winchester reports two minor fires in Clarke. At 5:30 p.m. a blaze at Vin cent's Sunoco Station caused little damage. At 8:30 p.m. another fire in a home foundation on 17 Page St involved a tree stump. both incidents were minor with undetermined causes.

Supreme Court Affirms B and O Control Transfer
The Supreme Court affirmed a Detroit three judge ruling upholding Chesapeake and Ohio Railways acquisition of control over Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.
