Winchester postal workers faced mountains of incoming and outgoing Christmas parcel post on Monday. Dennis Sours, a distribution and window clerk, was too busy to hold still for a photo as others at the Winchester Post Office kept up with the holiday rush.
AP reports a new flareup along the North Vietnam Laos border as American bombers evade SAMs and AA fire while striking a radar site and the Ho Chi Minh trail. Three incidents Monday to Tuesday increased US air attacks to 87 this year.
Three armed men robbed the American National Bank branch in Suffolk at about 1 25 p m. They fled on foot with an estimated 20 000 in a paper sack from the ground floor facility at Washington and Main streets inside the Professional Building. Two women employees and an elderly customer escaped unharmed. A third employee had left for lunch.
