Plans Forming on Price Ceilings In Early Stage

Washington officials say a ceiling on prices is being planned but no freeze is imminent. DiSalle and Valentine note staff limits delay a general ceiling for 60 to 90 days, while selective controls on defense mater ials may come first. Russell to Take State Police Post

Eugene Russell Jr. a Winchester Police Department desk clerk resigns effective December 15 to join the State Police as a dispatcher at the Richmond headquarters. A 1949 Handley High School graduate, he joined the local force last June and works the midnight to 8 a.m. shift. Chief J Thomas Boyd said applications will be accepted to fill the vacancy.

Prayer Services Planned in Winchester Week of Prayer

Winchester Presbyterian Church to host Week of Prayer from January 14 to 19 with guest minister the Rev. Albert G. Edwards of Harrisonburg First Presbyterian. Fellowship Club Plans Christmas Aid for Winchester

The Fellowship Club announces headquarters in Winchester and Frederic County aims to supply food toys and clothing to needy families this Christmas. A 12 truck canvass teams up with Junior Chamber members to collect canned goods Sunday afternoon. A benefit movie on Dec 16 at Capitol Theatre offers admittance in non perishable food. Two-Vehicle Crash on Valley Ave Causes $325 in Damages

A two car collision occurred yesterday at 6 15 p m at the Valley Ave and James St intersection. John Edward McAboy drove a 1948 Dodge turning right while Andrew Floyd Bean approached in a 1950 Chevrolet. Damage totaled about 325 with $200 to the Dodge and $125 to the Chevrolet.
