Chet Hobert Gave Rise To Winchester Recreation Park
Forty years ago Chet Hobert planned a park by pacing off three baseball diamonds on the old Rouss Farm. He helped pave a dirt drive to the Lion Club shelter and urged purchase of the land, now near Shenandoah College. Hobert later led Coiner's Store in Berryville and is known for his Clarke County ties.
