Little Theatre Thanks Lions Kiwanis and Rotary for Ticket Gift

A Little Theatre representative thanked Lions Kiwanis and Rotary clubs for purchasing many tickets for the Wilde-petri need children to the operetta Alice In Wonderland presented by the Clare Tree Major Children’s Theatre group from New York at Handley High School Auditorium. Between 400 and 500 children attended, with fifty Front Royal children and several adults in the audience.

Rainy Weather Outlook For Week Across Regions

Washington reports a weekly weather outlook starting Monday. The North and Middle Atlantic States expect rain at the coast with some precipitation midweek and a turn to colder air later. Park Leaders To Convene Monday

Japan demands naval parity with U S and Britain

The Japanese delegation told British admirals at a conference that Japan demands real parity with the United States and Great Britain in navy strength and will not discuss other issues until parity is accepted. Admiral Osami Nagano led the Japanese group, urging a navy equal in size to Britain and the United States, a stance that previously disrupted bilateral talks. The conference was held at the Admiralty and followed by arrangements for the Tendon opening.

Martinsburg Man Injured in Martinsburg Pike Crash

Manuel DeHaven of Martinsburg West Virginia was injured last night when his car left the Martinsburg pike near Winchester struck a tree and overturned. He suffered numerous lacerations and a broken right hip and was taken to Winchester hospital. A skunk crossing the highway is cited as a possible cause. Della Dunn of Martinsburg and two companions were first on the scene and rushed him to care after extricating him from the wreckage.

Mr and Mrs Cookus Visit Barre Then Head South

Nurse Describes Merciless Bombing at Dessye

Miss Petra Hoevig a 4 Norwegian nurse said the Italian bombardment of Dessye was merciless after being brought to Addis Ababa for treatment. She described planes returning to drop bombs on the American Seventh Day Adventist Hospital where she served and the yard was hit by over 30 bombs.

Italian air raids claim efficacious results at Dessye

Rome reports air bombing of tens of thousands of Ethiopian troops at Dessye with efficacious results. The communique notes Ethiopian prisoners, deaths, and material losses along the Eritrean and Somaliland fronts as Italian planes strike again. The Ethiopian capital Dessye was heavily bombed, harming hospital tents and the palace while Haile Selassie remained unharmed.

Dr Freed to Preach at Grace Church

The Rev. Dr. C. A. Freed of Columbia South Carolina arrived today and will preach at Grace Lutheran Church tomorrow at 11 in the morning. Thaw Begins Flight to Search for Ellsworth
