Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Cather aged 71 wife of Edward W. Cather prominent Winchester orchardist died at her home 302 West Boscawen Street after five weeks illness. Born January 13 1875 in Hampshire County West Virginia she was a charter member of the Congregational Christian Church on South Braddock Street and survived by husband daughter Layton Stockdale nine sons and twenty one grandchildren plus siblings and an aunt. Funeral details not listed.
Clarke County records show nine marriage licenses issued in November by the county clerk. In Clarke Circuit Court a divorce from bed and board was granted to Lena Virginia f. against Russell S. Fletcher on November 22. The adoption case of William Franklin Walker and Martha May Gallagher was finalized with the child’s name to be William Franklin Walker Jr.
